Europeana Local
With the “European Digital Library” initiative, the European Commission aims to make Europe’s cultural and scientific heritage (books, films, magazines, maps, photographs, music, museum objects, etc.) accessible online for everyone. The first prototype of this European cultural network portal was officially presented by the responsible EU Commissioner in November 2008 under the name “EUROPEANA.”

The EU-wide project “EUROPEANA Local” supports regional and local institutions in preparing and integrating their data into EUROPEANA.
In 2010, the “Digital Library” information series was conceived in cooperation with the University of Graz. The conferences are held regularly at the University of Graz.
