International cultural heritage projects

Many of our long-term international research projects (EDSforCH, OpenUp! in DSI4, LinBi, LoCloud, OpenUp!, EUROPEANA V1, DISMARC, Media.Alp, COVAX, MOSAIC, VEKTOR…) focus on the development of comprehensive IT solutions and portals for cultural heritage institutions (MLA – Museums, Libraries and Archives).

AIT has been a partner of the European Digital Library, Europeana, since 2008 and, following the launch of the Europeana portal in late autumn 2008, assumed the role of an aggregator of cultural digital data from Austria for Europeana. Since 2011, we have also operated the European Service Center for Natural History Data (managing more than 13 million records for natural history museums, research centers, and botanical gardens throughout Europe).
