Goals of BHL Europe

• Coordination and technical coordination of European digital libraries in the field of biodiversity
• Recommendation of best practice guidelines and standards for the establishment of digital libraries on biodiversity
• Implementation of multilingual access to data
• European contribution to the global BHL project and contribution to EUROPEANA
• Development of strategies for the long-term archiving and preservation of digital data on biodiversity
• Clarification of copyright

AIT focused on implementing multilingual access to the data in the project. Today, BHL Europe is managed by the Europeana aggregator OpenUp!.
