EuropeanaConnect
EuropeanaConnect will develop key technical components for the EUROPEANA portal in collaboration with Europeana v1. These components include tools for semantic enrichment of data, translation tools, data management tools, as well as tools for annotation and licensing.
Objectives of EuropeanaConnect
• Semantic search (use of SKOS, OWL)
• Tools for multilingual access to the portal
• Development of a scalable harvesting infrastructure (OAI-PMH)
• Metadata and service registry
• Annotation, GIS, and eBooksOnDemand services
• Mobile access
• Legal framework (licenses)
• Incorporation of audio data into EUROPEANA
Audio content will be introduced into EUROPEANA through the continuation of the DISMARC project.
